Weekly Message - 2/25/24

Hello families! Please see the updates for the week of 2/26-3/1.

Thank you to all who came to our Family Ball event on Friday! We also want to thank the PTA for supporting this event by writing it into the yearly budget. There are many ways the PTA gives back to our school and community and this is just one of them!

  • Your support is always needed! Are you ready to be part of the hard working, fun loving crew at the heart of our Ephesus family community? The PTA is looking for folks interested in leadership positions on our PTA next year. To learn about open positions or let us know about your talent, interests, or expertise, please email Melissa at

Community Helpers: Pre-K is learning about community helpers! Ephesus will have a visit from the Chapel Hill Police Department on Monday 2/26 at 11am.The fire department will come tentatively on 3/7 at 10:30am. If you see community helper vehicles in our bus loop during these times, there isn’t an emergency, students are just having great hands-on learning experiences!

True Book Fair Update: Ephesus will have two exciting book-related events coming this Spring! Our True Book Fair will take place in the library the week of May 6-10. The True Book Fair is an event in which all of our students come to the library to choose two new, high interest books to add to their home library at no cost. To learn more about True Book Fairs, you can read this article about the librarian and her students that inspired this initiative and an article written by CHCCS about True Book Fairs that took place in our district last year. This year's True Book Fair has already been fully funded with the help of our PTA, the Public School Foundation, and the Kiwanis Club of Chapel Hill and Carrboro. If you would like to support future True Book Fairs at Ephesus, you can donate through the Public School Foundation at this link:

  • Before summer break, the Public School Foundation is also sponsoring Books Over Break: A Program to Support Summer Literacy and they need your help. To make this program happen, we are in need of books, for grades Pre-K-8, gently used and new. You can drop off donations in our atrium, Flyleaf Books, and Grata Diner.

CHCCS Parent Survey: To help all of us learn how to make your child's schooling experience as positive and beneficial as possible, please give us your honest, thoughtful responses in the parent survey. Emails will be sent with the public survey link to the guardian emails or you can click the link here

Have a great week!
