Weekly Message - 9/17/23
Hello Ephesus families!
Thank you to all who came out to our PTA/SIT collaboration meeting this past Thursday! If you missed it, here are the slides that we covered. Our goal as both a school improvement team and a PTA is to increase engagement with all families. Stay tuned for the topics that will be covered at the next meeting. In the meantime, mark your calendars for the following dates:
- Thursday, October 12th: 6-7pm - School Improvement Team Meeting (ALL are invited to attend this virtual meeting to here more about our beginning of year data as a school).
- Thursday, November 9th: 6-7:30pm - PTA/SIT collaboration meeting in person. Childcare and dinner will be provided!
Fund it FAST is coming up! This is the one and only fundraising event of the year and supports so many initiatives for our school. See the presentation above for some details about what the PTA voted on in regards to the ways in which the money is used. Stay tuned for more details!
Kindergarten Color Days are BACK for the second year in a row. From Ms. Little, "The Kindergarten color days are a wonderful opportunity for our students to explore colors, emotions, and the relationship between music and mood, including the layers of moods it can convey." Join us this week for the fun!
- Monday: Red
- Tuesday: Orange
- Wednesday: Yellow
- Thursday: Green
- Friday: Blue
Next week, the student services team will be working with students on how we can show kindness, empathy and break down social barriers. “Start with Hello” is an initiative started by the Sandy Hook Promise and involves three simple steps: see someone alone, reach out to help and start with hello. On Thursday, wear green to show your commitment to this promise!
Finally, please remember that good attendance starts at home! Students cannot learn if they are not in school so please help us by ensuring your child is on time and present each day. Students who are late are also missing key community building activities that support their social emotional development. Let us know if there are ways we can support your family in making sure your child is present each day.
Have a great week!
