New Safety Changes

Good Evening Ephesus Families,

Last week we completed our first Lockdown Drill/Practice Successfully:

This week we will be focusing on updating a couple of morning and afternoon safety changes:

1. Parents may continue to drop their students off at classes in the mornings as usual, if they so desire, but no longer will parents be able to have long or Very brief "UNANNOUNCED" meetings with teachers when dropping their child(ren) off at their classroom(s). Teachers need to be intently supervising students and preparing for lesson instruction that starts after the 7:50 tardy bell and morning announcements.

2. NEW DISMISSAL Procedures: School-created Kiss and Go AND Parent/Student WALKER cards will be sent home with all students on Wednesday 9/12. We will designate 9/13 and 9/14 as "Practice Days" for parents to get use to remembering to bring their cards with them each day to PICK UP their child up from Kiss & Go or the Parent/Student Walkers Area by the cafeteria. Anyone without their students' card starting MONDAY 9/17/18 will need to sign their child out in the front office under all circumstances.

3. Independent Walkers/Bikers (Those students who walk/bike home without parent escort) will meet a school staff member in the Atrium and will be escorted through the bus exit after buses depart.

Parents, I sincerely hope these small changes will help support the overall safety of our entire school community. I appropriate your support as we work to solidify these needed changes.

Have a Great rest of your evening!
