Nurturing the Whole Child

At the elementary level, arts experiences nurture the whole child and help students develop cognitively, physically, and socially and emotionally. Developmentally appropriate activities help children develop fine and gross motor skills. Students explore a wide variety of experiences, learn about their own interests, make connections to other subject areas, and develop unique talents.

There is increasing evidence that the arts play a role in healthy social and emotional development.  Participation in the arts can release stress, give an outlet for emotions, help us process trauma, and give us a way to connect with others.
