Greetings CHS families,
It is with great excitement that we announce the date and details of our annual CultureFest. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, November 14th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, so mark your calendars now! For those new to our school community or those who haven’t participated before, this night is aimed at celebrating our school’s diverse community and sharing parts of our cultures, traditions, and families with each other through food, discussion, and entertainment. Details are included below:
Who? This event is for ALL Carrboro students, families, faculty, staff and community members.
What? A night of sharing and celebrating the diversity of our school community through food, discussion, and entertainment.
When? Thursday, November 14th from 6:00pm-8:00pm. Potluck dinner starts at 6:00pm and programming starts at 7:00pm.
Where? Potluck dinner will be served in the Cafe Commons; the Film Showcase and film programming will take place in the Auditorium.
How? Students and families can participate in a variety of ways! The first step is just to show up! We also encourage families to share a part of their culture with our community by preparing a dish from their own family traditions or culture. If you are interested in contributing, please use this Google Form to indicate the type of dish you will be preparing. This will help us organize and ensure enough food for all! We also encourage students and families to wear clothing from their own cultures, if available and applicable.
For additional questions or more information about the event, please contact Mr. Fernandez-Schendt. If you have ideas about additional contributions or programming, we would love to hear it! This night is meant to be a reflection of our community and all that we have to offer.
