Smith School Improvement Team Parent Members
Are you interested in helping improve your student’s middle school experience The School Improvement Team has two openings for parent members. Joining the SIT is a great way to stay connected to the latest school and district policy issues and concerns. The SIT consists of parents, school administrators, teachers, staff, and students. The key responsibilities include the following:
- Review, assess, and approve implementation of the School Improvement Plan (known as the SIP); and
- Identify opportunities for ongoing improvement in areas, such as instruction, student performance, and school environment.
The time commitment for a SIT Parent Member is a 1-hour meeting per month. Regular attendance and participation are required. SIT members serve a two-year term and are determined by a parent vote each spring. Smith has two (2) openings for the 2019-2021 term, and parents of rising 6th and 7th grade students are eligible to serve.
Please provide the following information to the Smith PTSA/SIT Liaison via this Smith Google Form by May 1, 2019. Ballots will go out to all parents of currently enrolled Smith students (6th-8th grades) shortly thereafter.
