Blue Ribbon provided me with more opportunities than I would have been presented with had I not been in the program. I was introduced to an amazing woman who had a tremendous impact on my life, and I am still in contact with my mentor to this day. She was my biggest advocate as I was navigating my way through high school and college, and she continues to be someone I turn to as I have transitioned into adulthood. At this point, we see each other as family and she is someone who I know will continue to be in my life no matter what. On top of that, I was able to go abroad, tour various in and out-of-state universities, and do service projects in other states through the program’s leadership club YLI.
