LOTTERY APPLICATION PROCESS

Public enrollment for the Community Schools After-School Program 2026-2027 will be a lottery system. Please review the application steps below.

Community Schools will accept enrollment applications for the 2026-2027 program year from Friday, April 10, 2026 to Friday, May 1, 2026. 
 

Families must submit an enrollment form for each child they wish to enroll. Enrollment forms (one per child) must be received by Friday, May 1, 2026 to be included in the lottery. Applications received after this date will be added to the waitlist. 

  HOW TO APPLY
 

1. Complete an enrollment form for EACH child you wish to enroll.
2. Submit the completed enrollment form(s) in one of the following ways (form located here...AfterSchool2026EnrollmentForm)

LOTTERY PROCESS
 

The lottery will take place during the week of May 4th.

Siblings will be entered together and offered spaces together if drawn. Once a school’s program is filled, the remaining enrollment forms will continue to be drawn to form the waitlist for that school.
 

Applications received after May 1, 2026 will be placed at the back of the waitlist in the order they were received.

 

COMMUNICATION AFTER LOTTERY

 

Families who are offered space in after-school will be contacted via email (1st attempt) and phone (2nd attempt) by the Registrar, no later than Friday, May 15, 2026.

  An invoice for enrollment fees will be provided upon acceptance of after-school placement. To complete enrollment, a payment of $170.00 per child is required ($40.00 registration fee and $130.00 refundable deposit). Payment methods and deadline for payment of enrollment fees will be included with the invoice. 

 

Enrollment in the after-school program is subject to review. While we strive to serve all students, placement depends on the program's ability to meet each child's individual needs within established student-to-staff ratios. In cases where a child requires a level of support beyond what can be safely and effectively provided, the Community Schools Office has the discretion to determine whether enrollment is appropriate.

 

WAITLIST 

 

Families who are placed on the waitlist will be notified by the Registrar by Friday, May 15, 2026.

YOUR WAITLIST PLACEMENT IS NOT A GUARANTEE OF THE NEXT AVAILABLE SPACE IN THE PROGRAM. Community Schools reserves the right to prioritize enrollment of children of district employees or in unique circumstances on a case-by-case basis.
 

The waitlist does not roll over from year to year. Interested families must apply again during the 2027-2028 public enrollment period.
