At Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, technology is planned, managed, and maintained through coordination and collaboration between the Information Technology Department (Operations Division) and the Digital Learning and Libraries Department (Instructional Services Division). The Information Technology Department (ITD) consists of four work groups: Client Services, Systems Administration, Infrastructure and Security, and Operations. These groups work together to provide and maintain secure and sustainable networks, systems, and devices used for instruction and organizational administration. ITD works in partnership with the Digital Learning and Libraries Department, which is composed of two workgroups: Instructional Technology Facilitation and Libraries. The staff in these groups work together to facilitate the use of technology throughout the campus and into the classroom. They assist instructors to effectively integrate technology into the curriculum, as well as help staff and students with district issued technology equipment and instructional software platforms.
We embrace innovative technologies that promote collaboration, creativity, communication, and critical thinking while supporting the students, staff, and parents to make meaningful contributions and thrive within a global society.
