School/Classroom Library Catalogs

 

In accordance with North Carolina’s House Bill 805 (2025-2026 Session, SL 2025-84), CHCCS will provide parents/guardians ongoing public access through a searchable web‑based catalog to the titles of any school library and classroom library books. It also allows parents/guardians to restrict their child from checking out or reading specific books. 

Parent/Guardian Responsibility

  • Parents and guardians who want to limit their child's access to a specific title in a school or classroom library are responsible for completing the required steps to request restricted access. 
  • Restrictions apply only to the books that parents/guardians restrict for their child. All other titles will remain available.
  • Restricting a book for your child does not remove the book from the library or classroom; it only prevents your child from checking it out or reading it at school.
