The Family and Community Engagement Department seeks to support the development of trusting relationships between schools, families, and community partners through shared responsibility, meaningful engagement, collaborative decision-making, and effective communication, in order to ensure that every student receives a quality education.

To support student success through the implementation of home-school partnership strategies and authentic engagement that ensure families are informed and empowered to engage as equal partners in their children's education.

Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate (BRMA)

Blue Ribbon Mentor-Advocate is a comprehensive support program for students in the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. We provide students with mentoring, tutoring, advocacy, enrichment, leadership training, and scholarship support services.
 

Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation

The Chapel Hill-Carrboro Public School Foundation (PSF) is an independent, non-profit organization that is dedicated to mobilizing community support for the Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools.

 

Family Alcohol Education Program

In anticipation of a healthy and safe holiday season, we would like to announce the roll-out of our Family Alcohol Education Program, designed to facilitate productive conversations about alcohol between families and students. The harmful consequences of underage drinking have long-lasting impacts, but underage drinking is preventable. With your critical help, we can support the health and well-being of our students. To help you with these important conversations, we are providing some resources and a video. 

 

Parent-Teacher Association (PTA) & School Improvement Team (SIT)

Special Needs Advisory Council (SNAC)

SNAC is a group of parents, district staff, and community professionals working together for the continuous improvement of the CHCCS Exceptional Children's program. Get involved with SNAC!
