EIPD (Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities)

The division for Employment and Independence for People with Disabilities (EIPD)(formerly Vocational Rehabilitation/VR), is a division within North Carolina’s Department of Health and Human Services. The purpose of EIPD is to help people with disabilities achieve their goals for employment and greater independence. If you have a disability and want to find a job, keep working or advance professionally, EIPD can help you chart your path to a career with a future. EIPD can provide counseling, education, training, job placement assistance, assistive technology and many other services, depending on what you need to meet your goals for competitive, integrated employment.

EIPD empowers young people with disabilities to explore career options…set goals for their future….and overcome challenges they may face along the way.  It’s about making the transition from high school to the world of work.  VR offers two programs: Pre-ETS—or Pre-Employment Transition Services– and Individualized EIPD with Transition Services.
