The Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools 2026-2027 Magnet Programs Lottery application is closed. 

New kindergarten families that are Interested in these programs can enroll if space is available after the lottery. If space is not available they will be added to the waitlist. The programs are Mandarin Dual Language (Glenwood Elementary), Spanish Dual Language (Carrboro Elementary or Frank Porter Graham Elementary), and World Language (Glenwood Elementary). 

All other new kindergarten-12th grade students will complete the registration application in the Infinite Campus Student information System (SIS) later this school year. Additionally, rising kindergarten student parents that submitted a lottery application for magnet programs will also need to submit a registration application in the Infinite Campus SIS later this school year.

New student registration for the 2026-2027 school year will open in the spring of 2026!

The first step in joining our community is to complete the online registration application. If needed, we are available to assist you in-person at Lincoln Center located at 750 S. Merritt Mill Road, Chapel Hill, NC 27516. Please contact our office at (919) 967-8211 extension 20407 if you have any questions about the process. We also encourage you to reach out to individual schools with any questions about classes, programs, or extracurricular activities—they’ll be happy to provide specific information and support.

General Information about Student Registration and Enrollment:

  • The Office of Student Assignment and Enrollment is responsible for new student registration, address changes, transfers, and school assignment for new and continuing students.
  • Students are assigned to the school that is zoned for the home address. Please use this Student Assignment Map to locate your school. 
  • Only parents or legal guardians may register students. Legal guardians must present court-ordered custody or guardianship documentation. Notarized statements and powers of attorney are not acceptable.
  • The registration and enrollment process can be completed online. It is not necessary to visit our office in-person, and students do not need to accompany their parents to be enrolled.
  • Please contact your school's Data Manager to update parent and emergency contact information.
