Mr. Channing BennettPrincipalI joined the Glenwood staff in January 2017. I began my career in education as a science teacher at Smith Middle School here in Chapel Hill. While there I taught 6th, 7th and 8th grade Science and served as the Instructional Technology Facilitator (ITF). I also had the pleasure of coaching corss country and ultimate frisbee for a number of years. I received both my BA in Middle Grades Science and Masters of School Administration degrees from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.919-968-3473 Ext. 38224Email: cbennett@chccs.k12.nc.usMs. Sarah StephensAssistant Principal
I am extremely honored to be at Glenwood Elementary as your Assistant Principal! I look forward to working with you and partnering with Gator students, families, and staff! Prior to Glenwood I was serving as an instructional coach and also completed my administrative internship at Lincoln Heights Magnet Elementary in Wake County. I have also served as a classroom teacher and district instructional technology facilitator in Hoke County Schools.
A little bit about me. I grew up in Wilmington, NC and have received both my Bachelor's in Elementary Education and Masters in School Administration from UNC-Chapel Hill (Go Heels!). I absolutely adore Chapel Hill and cannot believe I have the opportunity to do what I love and serve this incredible community! I love spending time with my two precious kiddos and husband, visiting family at the beach, and traveling with college friends!
It is an exciting time for Glenwood Elementary and I am grateful to be a part of the journey. I wholeheartedly believe in the incredible opportunities a magnet program provides students and am eager to have the opportunity to support and serve as we provide our students with authentic and innovative learning experiences through STEAM2!
