Mrs. Arrica DuBose

It is my privilege and honor to serve the Seawell Community. I am looking forward to an exciting year of learning and growing with our wonderful students, fabulous faculty, supportive parents and community members.

To tell you a little about myself, I was born and raised in North Carolina. I have two adorable boys and a wonderful husband.

I attended Winston-Salem State University where I received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Elementary Education. I also received my Masters in School Administration from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and I’m currently pursuing a doctoral degree in Educational Leadership from East Carolina University.

I began my teaching career with Durham Public Schools.  I also had the wonderful opportunity to complete my Principal Internship in Durham. Afterwards, I became an assistant principal with the Wake County Public School System.  I returned to Durham to work in Central Services as a Title I School Improvement Specialist and Parent Involvement District Coordinator. I also served as a principal in Durham for six years before coming to Seawell.

I love working with the entire school community and I am very excited to be a member of such a dynamic team. I share my background with you because I want you to know I understand that your children’s education and well-being mean everything to you. I will treat each student as if they are my own.  With this knowledge, it is a pleasure that I will have the honor to work with you to ensure our students grow, learn, and have a wonderful school year!

I look forward to meeting you, working with everyone, and becoming a vested member of the Seawell Elementary Community.

“I am so excited to begin working with the teachers, students, and parents of Seawell ES! I am looking forward to soaking up the vast knowledge and expertise of Mrs. DuBose, Seawell teachers, the students, and our parents. I am grateful to be selected for this position, and I can’t wait to begin working extremely diligently to assist with the continued growth of an excellent school! I am thrilled to be moving to the area, and I do have a fair amount of experience with Chapel Hill as my wife is a Carolina alumna. I am especially excited to soon be frequenting Mediterranean Deli, Sunrise Biscuits, and Trader Joe’s! My wife and I have been married for two years. We have one dog, Cashew, and one cat, Bud. In my spare time, you can find me reading books, weightlifting, walking and hiking with my wife and dog, playing guitar, and exploring the many unique towns and areas in our great state.”
