CHCCS anticipates teacher vacancies in multiple licensure areas for the 2018-19 school year. Areas of highest need include Elementary (K-5), EC Adapted Curriculum, EC General Curriculum, Math, and Science. Candidates who hold valid teaching licenses and those who meet the eligibility requirements to obtain a NC teaching license, are encouraged to apply for specific jobs by submitting the CHAPEL HILL-CARRBORO EMPLOYMENT APPLICATION.

Our district employs more than 1,900 staff members, including 1,200 teachers. We are the second largest employer in Orange County, after UNC-Chapel Hill.
CHCCS has the lowest dropout rate in the state, one of the highest graduation rates, and the highest average SAT scores in North Carolina.
At the middle and high school levels, 100% of our classes are taught by Highly Qualified Teachers, and 99% of our elementary teachers carry that designation. 43% of our teachers hold advanced degrees, and about 200 are National Board Certified.
