The marked trees are part of a tree survey and represent “Champion Trees,” which are notable for their size and age. These markings do not indicate trees slated for removal. The purpose of the survey is to identify these significant old-growth trees so they can be preserved during the design of the new campus.

A lighting plan has not yet been developed. Once the site plan has been finalized, an initial lighting plan will be developed and reviewed for code compliance and safety concerns. There are numerous devices which can assist with directing and shielding lighting. The new school will continue to be a good neighbor and cognizant of the potential for light pollution on adjacent properties. Also, it is unlikely that we will provide any lighting at the fire lane access along the rear of the property.

For new construction, the project team typically works with a waste-management provider that can sort and track construction waste and supply reports documenting materials diverted from the landfill through recycling. For demolition of the existing school, the demolition contractor will separate major recyclable materials such as concrete, masonry, and metals, which then will be transported to appropriate recycling facilities.
