  • CultureFest 2019

    It is with great excitement that we announce the date and details of our annual CultureFest. This year’s event will be held on Thursday, November 14th from 6:00pm-8:00pm, so mark your calendars now! For those new to our school community or those who haven’t participated before, this night is aimed at celebrating our school’s diverse community and sharing parts of our cultures, traditions, and families with each other through food, discussion, and entertainment.   • PreACT Pretest Portion

    The North Carolina Department of Public Instruction will soon be administering the PreACT assessment to all eligible tenth grade students on October 16. The PreACT assessment includes a pretest portion that will not be available to students through the state test administration. Parents and students can, however, voluntarily access and complete the information that is included in this pretest portion and create an ACT profile. Click on the title to access the parent letter.

  • CHS 1:1 Chromebook Permission Form

    In order to ensure that all students receive their assigned device during the first few days of school, the parent/student form (linked in step 2 below) must be signed so that Chromebooks can be distributed during the first day or two of school. Click on the title for more information.

    All Carrboro High School students are invited to participate in this year’s PTSA Reflections Art Contest. This year’s theme: “Look Within” Students can enter in the following categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts, and Special Artists.   • Public School Foundation Hosts Novice Teachers Tea

    After a string of extremely hot days, the weather in Chapel Hill cooperated, cooling off in honor of the newest CHCCS teachers to enjoy a patio celebration at the Weathervane Restaurant, for the twelfth annual Public School Foundation (PSF) Novice Teachers’ Tea.This year, the event was co-sponsored by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Association of Educators (CHCAE).

  • Family Engagement Summit Celebrates Third Year of Success

    The Family Engagement Summit is becoming a fall tradition in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools; for the third year, the halls and classrooms of Culbreth Middle School filled with parents and grandparents, educators, vendors, and even three dogs who serve as Pet Pals.

    Engaging with our community is a priority of Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. To that end, CHCCS is hosting a series of community meetings that will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the district’s three-year strategic plan, data from Year 1, and suggestions for Year 2.

  • October is National Bullying Prevention Month

    Every child has the right to feel safe and supported. The crucial message is part of a campaign by the National Bullying Prevention Center this month, but the reminder needs to be shared every day, in any setting where children learn and play. CHCCS Student Support Services will be sharing bullying prevention activities and discussions in schools, throughout the month of October.

    In Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools, you’ll hear a lot about the Public School Foundation, or The Foundation, or PSF, as it’s more commonly called.
