  • Fall Athletic Season Wraps Up With Four CHCCS Titles

    The athletic programs at Chapel Hill High, East Chapel Hill and Carrboro High School notched plenty of great achievements during the fall sports season, including four team and individual North Carolina High School Athletic Association (NCHSAA) titles: men’s soccer at CHHS, women’s cross country at Carrboro High, and top individual finishers in cross country in both women’s (CHS) and men’s (East).

  • Carrboro High School Students Meet with Nobel Peace Prize Winner

    For students in Matt Cone’s social studies classes at Carrboro High School, the possibility of meeting world leaders and changemakers seems to be just one more aspect of the learning process, rather than an extraordinary opportunity that few American students could ever experience. On October 29, a group of his students met privately with newly named Nobel Peace Prize winner, Nadia Murad, at Duke University.

  • CHCCS High School Students Attend Equity Day

    Small groups of students from all four CHCCS high schools traveled to North Carolina State University early last Monday morning, September 24, for a day-long symposium on Student Equity.

  • Elementary Schools Host Bring a Guest to Lunch Day

    The first Child Nutrition event of the school year, Bring a Guest to Lunch Day, has become a cherished tradition. The 11 CHCCS elementary schools all participate, with some schools hosting more than 75 parents, grandparents and other adults on the designated day.

  • Minority Student Union Introduced at Carrboro High

    Toward the end of her junior year at Carrboro High School, Zoyie Mangaroo began spending more time with her AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination) classmates who were seniors, and she engaged more often in their conversations about impacting change for students of color.

  • CHS Musical Auditions

    Students interested in auditioning, teching, or playing in the pit orchestra for the CHS spring musical, Into the Woods, should complete the linked online sign-up form before Monday, December 17th: https://tinyurl.com/chsitwsignup. Students who would like to learn about the audition process and/or get feedback on their audition selections, may swing by the Blackbox (C114) from 4:00 - 5:00 PM on Monday, December 10th or Wednesday, December 12th. These are not coaching sessions, but time that has been set aside for any CHS student to gain more information about the process and appropriate audition materials. Students who would like to audition may sign up for Monday, December 17th or Tuesday, December 18th from 4:00 - 7:00 PM in the CHS Theater. Callbacks will be from 4:00 - 7:00 PM on Wednesday, December 19th. All CHS students are welcome to audition and apply regardless of prior experience.
