Preschool Special Education
The Pre-K Intervention (PKI) is committed to providing developmentally appropriate practices within high quality early childhood services to the preschoolers in Chapel Hill Carrboro City Schools (CHCCS).
PKI identifies, places, and directly serves eligible children. We partner with families and the community in order to build a strong foundation for the educational future of the young children who we serve.
Do you have concerns about your child’s development? Do you suspect they may have a disability that is affecting their language, cognitive, social, motor, or adaptive living skills? CHCCS PKI provides screenings and/or evaluations, at no cost to the family, to children suspected of having a disability and services to children who are determined to be eligible for special education services. We serve children who are 3-5 years old, and not age-eligible to attend Kindergarten.
