The Pre-K/Head Start applications for the 2025-2026 school year is now open. 

CHCCS Pre-K is open to children ages 3-5 by August 31, 2025, and not yet eligible for Kindergarten, who live in the Chapel Hill Carrboro City School district. 

The application for the 2025-26 is online. You must upload the required documents in order to have a completed application; partial applications will not be processed.   

• Use this link  for the English PreK application and use this link  for the Spanish PreK application.  
  • In order for your application to be processed you must include all of the required documents.  An incomplete application will not be processed. 
    • Required documents: 1. Proof of student age 2. Parent identification (both parents) 3. Proof of residency 4.  Proof of income (both parents) 5. Health  Assessment (This form is required, it is different from the kindergarten form), 6. Dental Assessment, & 7. Immunizations.
• If you have submitted an application for another child previously, you will not need to complete a new application.  Please email Prekapplications@chccs.k12.nc.us with your full name, date of birth and your child's full name and date of birth and we will send you a different link to upload the needed documents. 
• For your application to be included in the Pre-K Lottery, this must be noted on application as your first placement option.
