Enrollment:

2026-27

  • Enrollment opens on 2/9/26 for new families. Reenrollment information will be sent home on January 6, 2026 and must be returned by 1/23/26.
  • The 2026-2027 school year application is NOT currently open. Please do not complete the 2025-26 application for the 2026-27 school year.  
    • In order for your application to be processed you must upload all of the required documents.  An incomplete application will not be processed. 
      • Required documents: 1. Proof of student age 2. Parent identification (both parents) 3. Proof of residency 4.  Proof of income (both parents) 5. Health  Assessment, 6. Dental Assessment, & 7. Immunizations.

For your application to be included in the Pre-K Lottery, this must be noted on application as your first placement option. You are only permitted to note 1 dual language school ( Carrboro and Frank Porter Graham) in your top choices.

2025-26

  • The 2025-2026 school year application is currently open. 
  • There is an English PreK application and a Spanish PreK application.  
    • In order for your application to be processed you must include all of the required documents.  An incomplete application will not be processed. 
      • Required documents: 1. Proof of student age 2. Parent identification (both parents) 3. Proof of residency 4.  Proof of income (both parents) 5. Health  Assessment, 6. Dental Assessment, & 7. Immunizations.
  • If you have submitted an application for another child previously, you will not need to complete a new application.  Please email Prekapplications@chccs.k12.nc.us with your full name, date of birth and your child's full name and date of birth and we will send you a different link to upload the needed documents. 

 

Notification:

  • First round notification for Prek acceptance for new families will be emailed on 5/4/26. 
    • If there is room, the 2nd round of acceptance will be on June 29th. 
  • Returning families will know there placement by email on 4/17/26. 

If parents noted 2 email addresses on their application please check both emails.
