Orange County Student Easy Access (SEA) and Educator Acccount and
Chapel Hill ID Easy Access (IDEA) Public Library ProgramsChapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools knows that our students and staff need easy access to as many print and digital resources as possible that are especially designed for teaching and learning and accessible in both the classroom and at home. Knowing this, we have strengthened our partnerships with both Orange County Public Library and Chapel Hill Public Library to provide Easy Access library accounts to both Library systems upon enrolling in or being hired within our District.
The Orange County Public Library provides fine-free Student Easy Access (SEA) and Educator Accounts and Chapel Hill Public Library’s program is titled the ID Easy Access (IDEA) Project.
All CHCCS students and staff are able to use their district student or staff ID number and a secured password (see below) allowing access to research databases, tutoring and test prep, downloadable books, audio books and the ability to check out print and audio books either online or by visiting each library.
If you already have an account at either library, speak with a librarian to see if your accounts can be merged.
If you would like to opt-out of either program, you can fill out the CHCCS opt-out form and an account will not be created in either Library system. Here’s how to get started using your SEA and Educator and IDEA accounts:
- Go to either the Orange County Public Library OR Chapel Hill Public Library Website
- Access resources using your Username and Pin (Password):
- Username: Your Student or Staff ID Number. For example: 0123456789
- Student Pin number: Your Birthday MonthxDate (MMxDD) For example: 01x12 if it is January 12th
- Staff Pin Number: The last four digits of your State Employee ID number with an x in the middle. For example: 54x98
