Orange County Student Easy Access (SEA) and
Chapel Hill ID Easy Access (IDEA) Public Library Programs

Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools knows that our students and staff need easy access to as many print and digital resources as possible that are especially designed for teaching and learning and accessible in both the classroom and at home.  Knowing this, we have strengthened our partnerships with both Orange County Public Library and Chapel Hill Public Library to provide Easy Access library accounts to both Library systems upon enrolling in or being hired within our District.  The Orange County Program is titled Student/Staff Easy Access (SEA) and Chapel Hill Public Library’s program is titled ID Easy Access (IDEA).

Beginning on September 4, 2018, students and staff were able to use their district student or staff ID number and a secured password (contact your school librarian for the password) allowing access to research databases, tutoring and test prep, downloadable books, audio books and the ability to check out print and audio books either online or by visiting each library.  If you already have an account at either library, you can keep them both or ask them to be merged by contacting either library.

If you would like to opt-out of the program, you can fill out the CHCCS opt-out form and an account will not be created in either Library system.

Here’s how to get started using your SEA and IDEA Easy Access accounts:
