Mrs. Aisha Howard

I am originally from New York, but have lived in North Carolina since I was 15 years old.  I completed my undergraduate studies at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and obtained my Masters in School Leadership from UNC-Chapel Hill.

I enjoy spending time with my family, watching original series on Hulu and Netflix and traveling when I can.  I love learning new things and am super excited about being the principal at McDougle Elementary.

I am inspired by quotes that challenge me to do better and be a better person. Among my favorite is a quote by Martin Luther King Jr.- “The time is always right to do what’s right”.

I believe that school should be a safe, equitable, cultural relevant, engaging and fun place for all students. I believe in the power of relationships and know that students do their best when they feel nurtured, valued and heard.

We have an amazing staff at McDougle and i look forward to our work together. Go Dolphins!

I am truly honored to serve as the Assistant Principal of McDougle Elementary where Dolphins truly thrive as a family!

I am a proud native of a small town (Kelford, NC) in Bertie County, where I grew to love education and believe that every child deserves a quality education despite his or her background. I earned a Bachelor's degree in English and Education from Wake Forest University and a Master's degree in School Administration from The University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

My career began at an early age, and I am entering into my sixth year in the public education. My commitment to fostering a school community where everyone can learn and feel welcome runs deep, and I am a firm believer that through collaboration, positivity, and inclusion of all stakeholders, we can do whatever it takes to help all students achieve academic success!
