Summer Camp For Elementary Students

    Summer Camp Registration & Information

    • Include $40 registration fee and $60 deposit for each requested week

    Fees (per student) Summer 2021

    $40 registration fee
    $60 deposit for each week requested (credited toward total fees)
    $180 per week 
     
    Fees include lunch, two snacks, and activity costs.

    Summer Camp Operating Information 

    CHCCS Summer Camp is a licensed school-age care program featuring a variety of recreational and enrichment activities.
     
    Program Locations 
    Summer Camp locations vary from year to year, based on elementary school facility availability.
     
    2021 Summer Camp Locations, Hours, Schedule 
    Sites: Morris Grove Elementary, Northside Elementary, Rashkis Elementary and Mary Scroggs Elementary
    Hours: 7:45 a.m. - 5:45 p.m. 
    Ratios: 1 staff person for up to 15 children (One on one staff to student ratio and small groups are not provided)

    June 28-July 1 
    EXPRESS YOURSELF - Welcome summer with exciting activities that allow campers to share their unique personalities and diversity with others. 
    Campers express themselves through games, crafts, arts, sports and music, while making connections with others.
     
    July 6-July 9*
    ADVENTURES IN ART - Unlock your imagination during this week full of art!  Campers express themselves creatively and learn that art is not 
    limited to painting and drawing.  They have lots of opportunities to participate in a variety of artistic activities.
     
    July 12-July 16 
    SUPER SCIENCE SPECTACULAR - Campers spark their curiosity for science and have ideas come to life.  They engage in creative learning through
    hands-on activities and experiments.
     
    July 19-July 23
    CULTURAL CELEBRATIONS - Let's travel the world together!  Campers explore games, trivia and customs from around the globe.  Cultural
    dance, crafts, styles of art, and more are discovered.
     
    July 26-July 30
    SPASHTOPIA - Just add water!  Campers splash through this week of all the fun-filled, water activities they can stand.
     
    August 2-August 6 
    FOOD, FRIENDS, FAREWELL - Campers enjoy another epic week of adventure through culinary exploration, exciting activities with friends and a 
    Spectacular Summer Camp Celebration!

    Lunch/Snacks
    Lunch and two snacks are provided daily through the school district's Child Nutrition Program.
     
    Transportation 
    Parents must transport children to and from camp each day. Transportation for field trips is by activity bus and is coordinated through the school district's Transportation Department.

  • Summer Youth Enrichment 2021 Offerings and Registration Information

     

     

     

    Knitting for Beginners

    Did you know that one of the earliest known examples of knitting was a pair of cotton socks with stranded knit color patterns?  These socks were found in Egypt at the end of the first millenium AD!  Do you like working with yarn?  This class is designed for beginners who have never picked up a pair of knitting needles and learning basic knitting skills.  Students learn yarn and needle selection and pattern reading at the beginner's level.  Come have fun!  Students should bring a nutritious snack each day.

    Crochet for Beginners

    Crochet for beginners teaches patience, self expression to color choice, and so many other things to help your motor skills.  Students learn 4 basic stitches to help create many different items like face mask adapters, coffee cup sleeves, and your own design creations.  Students should bring a nutritious snack each day.

    • Cancellations will be accepted until May 28.  The course fee will be refunded, less a $15 cancellation fee.  After June 1, course fees are non-refundable and cannot be transferred to another student.
