  • CHCCS Presents 3rd Annual Family Engagement Summit on October 5

    "Molding Magnificent Minds, Developing the Whole Child at Home and School" is the theme of the third annual CHCCS Family Engagement Summit. On Saturday, October 5, at Culbreth Middle School, from 9:00 am until 12:00 pm, families can select from more than 15 different workshops. The Summit is open to all CHCCS families, with childcare provided for ages 4-12. Lunch will follow the sessions from 12:00-1:00 pm. Registration in English and Spanish is here. This event is free but pre-registration is required.

  • "Driving is Exhausting" Reminds Drivers to Stop Idling

    For parents who drive their children to and from CHCCS schools, keep an eye out for new signs in the drop-off zones. “Driving is Exhausting” signs will stay up for two weeks as part of a No Idling campaign, spearheaded in large part by the energetic and exuberant Green Team at Phillips Middle School.

  • Public School Foundation Hosts Novice Teachers Tea

    After a string of extremely hot days, the weather in Chapel Hill cooperated, cooling off in honor of the newest CHCCS teachers to enjoy a patio celebration at the Weathervane Restaurant, for the twelfth annual Public School Foundation (PSF) Novice Teachers’ Tea.This year, the event was co-sponsored by the Chapel Hill-Carrboro Association of Educators (CHCAE).

  • Family Engagement Summit Celebrates Third Year of Success

    The Family Engagement Summit is becoming a fall tradition in Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools; for the third year, the halls and classrooms of Culbreth Middle School filled with parents and grandparents, educators, vendors, and even three dogs who serve as Pet Pals.

    Engaging with our community is a priority of Chapel Hill-Carrboro City Schools. To that end, CHCCS is hosting a series of community meetings that will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to discuss the district’s three-year strategic plan, data from Year 1, and suggestions for Year 2.
