How to Become a Volunteer
1. Review Opportunities
Begin by reviewing the kinds of volunteer opportunities that we provide. Based on your interests/background/availability, determine which of our programs best suits you. Take note of opportunities that interest you in preparation for your orientation with a volunteer office staff member.

2. Register as a Volunteer
After exploring our opportunities, please complete the Volunteer Registration form.

Complete a Criminal Background Check (These are good for 2 years).

3. Orientation with Volunteer Staff
For the safety of our students, potential volunteers will meet a volunteer staff member for a brief orientation before working in our schools. The registration and orientation process generally takes only 10-15 minutes if you have already registered online.
UNC Students should visit us on campus during one of the days indicated below to register and to receive orientation and placement.
Community members should call our office at (919) 967-8211 ext. 28281 to schedule an appointment. Our offices are located at:

Both trainings will be held on UNC's campus in the Johnston Center of Graham Memorial in room 39.
