Board of Education Statement on Israel and Gaza, Oct. 19, 2023

In the longstanding and multifaceted conflict that has deeply affected Israelis and Palestinians, and all those with familial, cultural and spiritual ties to the region, the Board of Education extends heartfelt empathy to everyone grappling with the profound loss and trauma emerging from the ongoing violent disruptions occurring within their communities.

We overwhelmingly wish for enduring peace and safety for families and communities in Israel and Gaza.

As an educational body, we reaffirm our commitment to cultivating an environment that promotes educated, informed understanding and dialogues.

We vehemently reject any hint of antisemitic, anti-Muslim or racist rhetoric or behavior.
