Jason Cook
Mr. Cook grew up in Wilmington NC, sailing, boating, and spending time on the beach. He earned his Bachelor's degree in Psychology from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington and earned his Masters of Education in secondary counseling from The Citadel, The Military College of South Carolina.
He moved to Chapel Hill from Charleston and is enjoying his 6th year at Culbreth. Mr. Cook lives in Pittsboro with his wife, son, dog, cat, fish, and pet crawfish. He still enjoys all things watersports, outdoorsy, and sportsman activities. He is also enjoying teaching his son, who is almost 2 years old the ways of the outdoorsman.
After college Mr. Cook had the opportunity to work with all ages from adolescents to geriatrics which showed him the direction he would like to go in his career. He was drawn to working with adolescents because He is really just a kid himself. He chose middle school counseling because he knew it was the most transitional time in an individual's life, making it incredibly important that our young people have support in navigating this space. He is amazed by the potential he sees in his students every year and is floored by their achievements.
