Welcome to CHCCS Middle and High School Math Page!

  • The secondary mathematics program engages students in meaningful learning through individual and collaborative classroom activities with focus on sense making of mathematical ideas and mathematical reasoning.   Our mission is to ensure that all students have access to a high-quality mathematics curriculum, effective teaching and learning, and the resources that will maximize the students' learning potential.

The secondary math curriculum develops important mathematics as well as connections among areas of mathematics and between mathematics and the real world. The middle school curriculum incorporates Open Up ResourcesThe Utah Middle School Math Project, and other curriculum resources .  The high school curriculum incorporates the Math Vision Project (MVP) in Math 1, Math 2, and Math 3 and other curriculum resources.

Please refer to the Middle School Placement Guide for math placement in the middle school.  The 6th Grade Math Waiver deadline has been extended to June 18, 2021.

According to the state graduation requirement policy, studnets must earn four mathemactics credits at the high school level that include Math 1, Math 2, Math 3, and a fourth level mathematics course.  For more information about math graduation requirements please visit the the North Carolina Department of Public Instruction Math Options Chart.
