    Mrs. Burko is excited to be joining the Culbreth Middle School community. She most recently served as an Assistant Principal in Alamance Burlington School System where she enjoyed working with staff and students. Mrs. Burko began her career as a 9th grade Social Studies teacher in the Cleveland Metropolitan School District. Before stepping into an administrative position, Mrs. Burko worked with teachers as an Academic Coach and taught Social Studies at T. Wingate Andrews High School in Guilford County.

    Mrs. Burko is a graduate of Wilkes University where she majored in Political Science and Sociology. She earned her Masters of Education degree in Curriculum and Instruction from Cleveland State University and completed her administrative coursework at High Point University. Mrs. Burko is a firm believer that all students can learn and is excited to collaborate with the students, faculty, staff and parents to ensure a robust middle school experience for all students who walk through our doors.

    Mrs. Sands-Warren is ready for another exciting year with her Culbreth family. Mrs. Sands-Warren has served as an Assistant Principal in Orange County Schools and as an ELA Teacher and Curriculum Facilitator in Guilford County Schools. Mrs. Sands-Warren feels it is an honor and humbling experience to have played different roles in education and she will always remain a teacher at heart!

    Mrs. Sands-Warren is a proud graduate of the amazing North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University where she earned a degree in English. She also received her Masters in School Administration from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University. Mrs. Sands-Warren has a passion for supporting children to be successful academically, socially and emotionally. Her goal is to make sure All of her students are prepared for the real world and all of its challenges and opportunities!
