Estes Hills' 60th Year of Celebration!
The whole Eagle Family is invited to all events! Everyone is Welcome!!
Estes Hills is continuing the celebration throughout the year on 60th Fridays (and one Thursday). The dates are:
September 28 - Alumni and Former Staff Reading to Classes
October 26 - School-wide photo on the blacktop
November 30 - Remembering and Learning About the 50s and 60s
January 25 - Remembering and Learning About the 70s
February 22 - Remembering and Learning About the 80s
March 21 -Thursday - Remembering and Learning About the 90s
April 26 - Estes Hills in the New Century
June 7 - Friday - End of Year Bash!
These are casual events during the school day - no speeches or program - just an opportunity for Estes Hills to celebrate 60 wonderful years with the whole Eagle Family. We hope EVERYONE will be able to join us for some of the events.

At many CHCCS schools, at least one cultivated garden claims a green space where students, parents and staff grow flowers, herbs, or vegetables. To explore the range of gardens in CHCCS is to encounter magnificent creativity, expertise and the concrete reflection of time and commitment from parents, staff and community members.
Parent University of CHCCS, led by Carla Smith, hosted an end-of-year celebration at the Chapel Hill Public Library for participants and their families on the evening of June 4.
On May 18 at ECHHS, nearly 100 contestants from Estes Hills Elementary, Glenwood Elementary and Ephesus Elementary continued an age-old tradition of poetry declamation, one practiced in world-language classrooms around the globe.
One of the district’s most powerful educational partnerships is with Elon University’s School of Education and its AIG licensure program, which has created an opportunity for CHCCS teachers to expand their knowledge to benefit all students.
Nearly 350 fourth-grade students from four CHCCS elementary schools “went to class” at Carolina on May 14, and they experienced a stimulating, inspiring mix of science lessons and activities, courtesy of the UNC Department of Physics and Astronomy.
